Thinking About joining a Choir? You’ll be Swell!

Our Choir Year Starts again on Tuesday 13th September 2022. If you are an adult who has been thinking about joining a really friendly choir that’s great fun, with a really diverse repertoire…now’s a good time to do it!

Although there may be opportunities for solos, you will not be required to sing on your own and you’ll find everybody extremely supportive. There is quite a wide range of talents and abilities in the Choir so don’t worry if you can’t read music.

We will be working hard this term preparing for performances during Autumn/Winter, culminating in our grand Christmas Concert at Eccles Town Hall on Friday 9th December at 7.30pm. Every Tuesday evening practice session is also a singing lesson – there’s so much to learn and enjoy together.  Our Musical Director, Angela somehow manages to persuade us to produce a lovely sound together- it’s like magic! And our skilled accompanist, John has the patience of a Saint!

We are very lucky to sing many different types of songs; some of our songs are arranged and composed especially for us – there is no other community choir quite like Eccles Community Choir!

It only costs £45 per term, three terms per year to be a member of Eccles Community Choir. Why don’t you come along and give us a try for free and see what you think?

‘Everything’s Coming Up Roses’ above was recorded at our summer concert in Eccles Town Hall. Just to show you the contrast in pieces we learn, below is ‘May It Be’ (arranged by James Pelham) from ‘The Lord of the Rings’. Many thanks go to volunteer cameraman Derek Chapman who works very hard to enable us to share our music with you via YouTube. We sound even better in real life and we really appreciate a supportive audience –watch this space for news of forthcoming concerts.

You can follow us on Facebook @ecclescommunitychoir, where we will soon be posting a few more tempting tasters from our summer concert.

Why not come and join us? You’ll be Swell!
